Mission & Vision
Mission: Men PACT aims to equip community members of all ages with the support, resources, mentorship, and community they need to prevent intimate partner violence.
Vision: A strong foundation for individuals who want to forge a safer future for all — by understanding their role in preventing intimate partner violence, cultivating healthy relationships, building positive identities in manhood, and providing mentorship.
OUR PURPOSE
Structure of Men PACT
Within the Task Force you choose how you want to participate and in what capacity. All direction flows from the Core Group, which is open to all members.
Core Group
Purpose: A space for community members to "steer the ship," connect, and discuss needs.
Goals: Foster a collaborative space for all seeking to positively impact men and prevent IPV.
Time: 60 minute monthly meeting.
Training & Facilitation
Purpose: Support individuals implementing the A Call to Men curriculum; facilitate community training.
Goals: Grow knowledge about IPV; foster a brave space that empowers people reaching into their community.
Time: ~30 min/week + monthly meeting.
Outreach
Purpose: Raise awareness of IPV prevention through social media and public events.
Goals: Increase awareness of prevention, statistics, and the effects of gender-based violence.
Time: ~20 min/week + monthly meeting.
Inter-State Coalitions
Purpose: Build working relationships with other states in the CDC's DELTA AHEAD program.
Goals: Maintain spaces for collaboration, share best practices, and spark new partnerships.
Time: ~10 min/week + monthly meeting.
HISTORY
How Men PACT Began
In the Spring of 2023, the TN Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (TN Coalition) and the Dr. Carol B. Berz Family Justice Center (FJC) began exploring a new collaboration through the CDC's DELTA AHEAD grant. Over the following months, the FJC and TN Coalition laid the framework for bringing this essential intimate partner violence prevention work to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County area. Men PACT arose through this coordinated effort and began reaching out to all parts of the community to engage men in this work, equip community members to lead prevention efforts, and ultimately foster safer and healthier relationships, families, and communities.

We achieve prevention through collaboration
DELTA AHEAD (CDC)
In March 2023 the CDC began funding 13 state domestic-violence coalitions through DELTA AHEAD, to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors related to intimate partner violence.
Dr. Carol B. Berz Family Justice Center
The FJC serves Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga, co-locating services in a trauma-informed environment to address intimate partner and family violence, elder abuse, human trafficking, child abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.
TN Coalition to End Domestic & Sexual Violence
The TN Coalition and the FJC collaborate to implement the DELTA AHEAD grant, working to end domestic and sexual violence and change the attitudes and institutions that condone it.
